Greene County Historical & Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization.
It was granted non-profit status in 2005, making all donations tax deductible.
Our support comes solely from membership fees, sales of our publications, donations and grants. We are an all volunteer organization.
Our Mission
GCHGS is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Greene County's rich history.
Our goal is to make our community aware of the resources we have available for their use, and to protect the records and documents in our care.
Genealogy is a rewarding hobby that often grows into a passion. We have a storehouse of information of our city and county's past, as well as a treasure trove of resources to discover your own family history.
